The Flying Termite Menace

If someone ever wanted to come up with a name for a superhero that was the least awe inspiring, fear striking name, the moniker “The Flying Termite” would probably be the least successful pick. Maybe it could be used as the name of a super villain? Nah. Doesn’t work there either. However, if one ever wants to deal with a truly fear striking and awe inspiring flying termite, then all one needs to do is deal with the actual, real life insect that claims the name as its own.

The flying termite looks very similar to a flying ant although termites have a tendency to spark more alarm in people’s hearts than ants do, as people generally fear the insane amount of property damage that a termite can cause. There are a few differences between the flying termite and the flying ant -- the most significant difference being that flying ants have a very pronounced waist while the flying termite has no waist whatsoever.

Ultimately, it always returns back to the issue of property damage; and that is why these termites will also be the more reviled insect. The main fear that people have is that this termite (or, more accurately, termites, plural) will invade the home via airborne means and infest a domicile. This fear is well founded as it is a common occurrence. After all, termites are known for their ability to seek and destroy a person’s dwelling regardless of how that will impact their human hosts.

So what does one do if one can not tell the difference between a flying ant and a flying termite? Really, it doesn’t matter if one can tell the difference between the two as one should immediately call an exterminator to take care of the pests. Both can cause harm and both should be eliminated before the harm they cause is significant.
